I probably know the answer to this question. I'm asking because I hope I'm wrong.
I have a 69 C3 coupe. The wipers don't work. I have correct power and grounds at the 3 wire connector. The motor works fine when bench tested. I have 12 volts in and out of the bypass switch under the dash. I don't have power at the connector for the limit switch. I checked power out of the connector for bypass switch and it is ok. Somewhere I've lost the connection between the bypass switch connector and the connector for the limit switch. Is there another fail point that anyone knows of other than the main harness connector through the firewall? A hidden connector that I can double check? I'd like my wipers to work, but I really don't want to tear the dash out again. (at least not yet)
Background--Dash was out for Vintage Air upgrade and all gauges replaced with aftermarket about 18 months ago. Wipers worked fine then and about 6 months ago when I last checked them. They don't work now. I really don't NEED them, but feel they should work.
If you have power out of the bypass switch but not at the limit switch, you have an open wire. There is no intermediate connection. You'll have to replace the wire to the limit switch. The harness connector can sometimes corrode badly, causing failure there.
That's what I was afraid of. I can run a replacement wire for now, but the real fix will be to replace that entire harness and thru firewall connector. If that connection corroded, others will also. I'm just not ready to tackle that project.
