How difficult would this be? Has the window size changed since 68-72 when it was removeable stock? Being one step closer to a convertible is appealing :)
I am also interested in this conversion. I have seen a couple of windows & frames for sale, but I still don't even understand how the window is held in place. In the archives, somebody was talking about writing a bit of a "tutorial" with some pictures that he'd taken of his project. Does anything like this exist?
Yep. I did it to my '73 a little while back. It's GREAT! The toughest part is finding all the parts you need. Someone posted this pic a while back and it's what I used to figure out all the parts necessary.
The window is held in on the bottom by a little post on the bottom of the window frame (on the winodw) that goes into a little hole that's already in your rear window frame are (on your car). The top of the window is held in place by two latches that you will have to mount on the upper, rear panels inside the car.
Great mod to make, you'll love it in the summer!
