Default How to Remove the Stingray Emblems

I just noticed I haven’t removed the Stingray emblems from my 73 which is going to the painter soon.
Everything else is stripped from the body and engine compartment so I have clear access to the backside of the emblems.
Looking at the inside of the fenders there are two 1/8” X 1” long studs that go through the fender from the emblems.
If I just push those pins will it push the emblems out and away from the surface of the fender, or is there some type of lip or latch on the stud that needs to be squeezed while pushing.
The back of the studs are covered with some undercoating so it is hard to see the base of the studs.
Thanks!

they are glued or double sided tape
Pry from all sides with your fingernails or some sort of plastic scrapper be gental if still stuborn use a hair drier to get it soft
Originals emblems are metal, some replacments are plastic

A few decades newer but I replaced the emblems on my C5 (2000) by using floss to remove the double-sided sticky stuff. I then used denatured alcohol to clean off the sticky stuff. I've attached the article I did for the Club's newsletter. your sticky stuff is probably pretty brittle so you may find the fishing line a more robust material to use. You may find some of the methods useful as you tackle the 73!

Hope it helps!

Depends on if you're trying to save the emblems or not
Cutting the tape using the heavy floss works most times, I've also used the finer braided fishing line, much stronger than the floss and depending on the strength, about the same size. There's a couple of locating posts on your emblems so figure out where they are and work around them the best you can. Once most of it is cut through you can usually lift off the emblem slowly and the remaining tape will let go

A hair dryer (not heat gun) on high heat may assist too.

I was planning on using some heat to soften the adhesive.
I was mostly concerned about the two posts visible on the inside of the fender.
They look to be metal, so maybe they are the originals.
They won’t be going back on but I hope to save them in case I ever change my mind.
Thanks for the help.

Heat, floss and go-be-gone worked well on my 77. The go ge gone loosened the adhesive nicely. Otherwise probably would have overdone it with the heat gun.

The ones with posts in the back May have a small push on lock, looks like a nut, ie nut and bolt. The stud won’t be threaded, the “nut” or retainer just push on

Pics will help.

I’ll try to get a couple of pictures today.
The Corvette lettering on the rear had those push on locks.
I’ll try to get the undercoating material cleaned off and get a closer look at what’s going on.
Thanks.

it's likely the posts are just pushed in, but not guaranteed.
I lost an emblem due to adhesive failure so I installed thread cutting nuts on 3 of the four posts on the inside of the fender.
