I have a 79 L82 and I noticed today that my Tach needle stays at or above 7000. has anyone else had the issue? I have been having problems with my center gage cluster for a while now. The voltmeter and fuel gage stopped working and I just changed the Circuit board.
This is my 79 l82 view…reference..i am pretty sure you have the center console pic?
why did you replace old board? Did you save it?
i even tack glued my tabs to stay in place as they are easily damaged or bent
I do not have my original board. it was really bad, and the original owner had done all kind of repairs on it. So, I bought a board from eBay, and I shorted it out and it had a brake it one of the copper strips. ( I didn't disconnect the battery first) before hooking up the wire harness. I think my voltmeter may be damaged.
It’s possible but unlikely that the resistors are your problem. The meters are much more delicate than the resistors. If you shorted something to the point you melted a copper strip on the printed circuit, I’d be looking at the gauges.
