Default Is this from the car?

Hello everyone! Saw this thing which looks like it could be off a 1971 454. It was in the garage not far from the car. Any idea if this came off the car and if so what is it? It has open and close written on it. Thanks for any input. I am trying to upload photos in this opening post but cannot see them so I replied in the post with them! 😀

It's a bicycle wheel quick release, not from a car.

Phew! So far I like your response! It looks like this "part" whatever it is has been around the block so I suspected it came from the car. Thank you for the good news so far! 😀

It's called a skewer, and is a quick release for a bicycle wheel.
