I am replacing the engine in my 79 C3 with a another SBC engine. I went to install the oil pressure sending unit and the threads were different. The new block has 2 ports naer the oil filter that a 1/2" bolt with 13 tpi fits perfect. Onother port more left of the oil filter had the same threads. I tried to remove another smaller plug directly above the oil filter and snapped of my 1/4" drive entension, so that one is not avalaible.
Issue is finding an adapter that goes from 1/2" (bolt size hole) 13tpi to the size threads of the sending unit. Not sure what size the male sending uinit thread is but they are very common.
Also, the engine that was in the car had a brass fitting with finer threads to the port on the engine and it is just slighlty larger that the 1/2" bolt that fits the new block.
Hopefully someone knows what is going on here and any advice is appreciated.- Thx
Thx for reply, the hole obove to the left probably clutch, upper right goes through to inside engine block and I will use it. Where your PSU is - mine has a snapped off 1/4 " wratchet exten broke off.
