I recently replaced the under Dash wiring harness, both in door harnesses, both power window switches, both door lock switches, and both door lock actuators. Everything now works properly except for the power door locks. When using the door switches, they will only unlock from both the driver and passenger side. They are obviously getting power. Otherwise they would not unlock so I’m stuck trying to figure out why they will not lock. I tried a combination of the old switches and new switches, but no luck. Would a faulty switch cause this issue? Should I just replace both switches again?
IIIRC those work by reversing the polarity on the motors to lock and unlock. Since you say it will go one way then the windings should be ok and the wiring at least connected. The swapping of the polarity happens at the switch and I believe the passenger feeds back to the drivers switch and then to the drivers door and then over to the passenger side motor.
I believe the switches are wired so that one side can't be unlocking while the other is locking so there might be a short in that wiring between the two switches, That could be your problem if there's something wrong with the wiring between the two switches (pinched or grounded)
First I'd unplug both motors and try just the drivers alone and then the passenger alone and see if that matters.
If that makes no difference I'd unplug both and put a meter on the drivers wiring and see if the polarity reverses (can't use a test light, need a meter that shows +/-)
Using some jumpers and the wiring or a separate battery test the motors and make sure they actually push / pull when you swap the leads
Disconnect the linkage and see if there's anything mechanical stopping them
