I went down to the rim shop and had a look at 20" wheels for my 80 vette .
it turns out that i liked the 18' rims better , so now i need to know if anyone out there is running 18"TORQ THRUST II wheels. i would like to use 18x9.5 in the rear and 18x8 in the front. dose anyone know what back space will work i have stock trailing arms .the rims are custom order so they can make them i what ever back space i need so i got to get it right the frist
time . tire size info. is also needed
thanks :seeya
Rear is more difficult. In order to put the outside edge of the rim in the same place as stock you need 5.5" BS with a 9.5" rim. Problem is I'm pretty sure you will need offset trailing arms for 5.5" BS. You could try a 5" BS but you risk the tire hitting the fender lip on bumps...
you need a neutral offset for the rear, that means 4.75" backspacing. If you run 275 tires and look at the cross section at the widest point, it is not much bigger than 255 that everybody runs on the back. you will have to relocate the ebrake bracket on the trailing arm, but in theory it should fit fine with 4.75".
