And that right there is why I am a return customer to Gary! He did a 3.73 a few years ago and it's perfect and not to mention very well documented process with pictures all the way through the build. He has one of mine now that is in line to be built to actually replace one that another vendor built. Thank you for doing great work for us Gary!
Hey there Gary just want you to know that I follow all of your posts!!!
That being said as the expert that you are I have a non rebuild question for you.
I have a 78SA auto trans with the OE rear and of course you know that the mileage is not so great..
Can you advise me as to what rear/differential I should look for If I decide to replace mine?
...Cheap jobs usually don't fool those in the know, but sure do catch a lot of the new owners and uninformed that base their decision on price alone. I see it every day. You see it in the scams for original cars advertised for sale, like a mint 63 SWC for $22,000 or a 71 LT-1 for $10,000. I don't know what the owner paid for this "work" but since there is $100 in parts and market price on low end, done in a day diff's is about $800-$1000, I'm guessing that's where it was. Still, $800-$1000 wasted is a shame.
And there-in lies the problem... if you don't have the money (time?) to do the job right the first time, where will you ever find the money (time?) to do it over again?
