Default New Seats!!!

I put seats from an '87 in my '73...some fabrication/modifications were necessary but all in all I think they came out pretty good:

And here's another pic just 'cause she was looking soooo shiney. Just for kicks I tried some of that Zymol wax...not bad for a rotten paint job.

Thanks. I thought I could just drill new holes and bolt the new seats in using the new tracks but turns out they sat about 3 inches higher than the old ones (which put my head over the windshield a bit) so I had to remove the C4 tracks and bolt on the old C3 ones (which was a little tough). Then I still had to drill 2 new holes per side to get them to fit. A little hassle but I think it was worth it, the new seats are MUCH more comfy! :hurray:

Wow, that looks great. Very nice install. Can you tilt the seats all the way forward without the headrests hitting the top of the windshield? I need some new seats.

They tilt all the way forward no problem. They slide forward nicely too so the wife can drive it. ;)

I was just looking on ebay and calling local corvette salvage yards about those exact seats. They look great. Where did you find them? and how much?

Got them off of Ebay...with shipping they were $500 (they travelled from CA to FL). Might have been a bit too much but they were within what I had budgeted. I have seen ones in similar condition go for $400 - $700. C5 seats are a bit more, closer to $800 or so.
