Default Door gap

Can anyone help me out? I am thinking about purchasing this 1976 C3 L48 and current owner has had for 37 years and says was always stored in the garage and never driven in winter. The gap on the drivers side between the drivers door and the front drivers fender looks HUGE to me and wider than the same gap on the passanger side. Does anyone know why this would be? Please see pics. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

door hinge could be worn open the door and try to lift it up and down .. could be just the bushing or door will need to be readjusted thats not that hard to fix
looks like the car was painted at one time or another so they most likely took the doors off and it would be the adjustment,, or the car could have been in a collision and when they put the front clip on it was off a bit ,, but you also have to understand these cars sometimes just came from the factory like that
do you have any pictures of the rear end of the door where the striker is so we can see the gaps there

Or, And most likely it has been this way from new! Almost all of these cars are this way.
And so is mine and I've owned mine since dirt was new!

it is also possible that the nose is dropping in the front. seller had it 37 years. it is 45. it could have had 8 years of salt before he bought it. roll down to post 107. read. mainly rule 5. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...orvette-6.html

Here is how they did it at the factory. Odds of a constant gap were next to impossible.

Yes again...

I've owned mine since new, paint is original and it's never been wrecked. Both doors click shut.
These have been my gaps for over 46 years...

Those door gaps look like the ones on my `79. Both doors close fine. I`ve seen so many C3 cars looking that way that I began thinking maybe that`s the way Chevy designed them?!

i think the noses were bonded on with the front a bit too low. the cut off wheels opened up the gaps if put on a bit too high which would make gap at the top a bit too tight. my 75 the nose is loose at the cowl. i can change the gap by raising the nose at the rad support.
