Default steering coupler

Does anyone here know the part number and or correct size/description of the universal joint required to replace the steering coupler on a 69?
Stock box, tilt shaft no power.
TIA

I might suggest just looking at any of our vendors and look for a rag joint. That should provide you with an answer.

1969 was a transitional year some inputs were round and others had a D-Flat so no one can say what you need you have to look and see.
Dont expect a new rag to be close to the original

I put in the flaming river ujoint. The problem is that you have to remove the steering box from the frame. Three bolts and the pinion arm from the power steering control valve ball joint .

Or you can pull the steering column. That's probably easier than removing the box, and the lower column bearing probably needs to be replaced anyway. For a 68 or early 69 box, I think the part is FR1713, but check your steering box. They make them to fit a Borgeson, too.

Thanks gkull and Bikespace for the part numbers and links. I will be replacing the column soon so I can double check the sizes and get the correct size.
I have a Gary built box and non-power steering. With wide tires on the front it puts so much strain on the rubber disc of the standard coupler.

FYI
The round worm is a 3/4-36 spline and the D-Flat is a 3/4-30 if you go with a coupling.
I don't know of any particular new rags I would recommend today, the ones I have seen were not impressive. I do have some NOS service rags for 67-E69 optional for those I built boxes for only.

When did I build you a box?

I'm sorry my post part number was just an example of the flaming river. I did a post on it a couple of years ago with my exact part numbers and size. I bought it through Summit racing.

Here is the Flaming River chrome moly steering u joint I just purchased for my 73 from Summit Racing.
Gary rebuilt my steering box, but I replaced my oem steering column with a Ididit Retrofit steering column so if you are using an oem steering column the part number you need will be different.

Gary, I purchased a box from a forum member who said you had worked it. Don't remember now the member name. I sent you a few pictures of the markings on the box at that time and you said it was possibly one of yours.

Yeah, I checked my records for your name but didn't have anything. If you remember the name I can check and see what type of build it was.

Gary. I just picked up my new tilt column. The shaft measures 1"-48 splines.
The old box removed from my car years ago has the 3/4" shaft. I count 25 splines plus the flat. (3/4-30 as you said)
Thanks for all of your help and input.
