Does the Cruise work in all respects? That is on the cruise mechanism and while I have an idea of what it's for I'm not sure because mine is disconnected and I don't have a book here. I believe its to control the speed going up and down hills, that will change the vacuum and the transducer will change the throttle...
I have never tried the cruise control but looking at it it goes to the cruise control and theirs a vacuum line that goes from the cruise control to that part then theirs that opening that doesn’t have a line to it. I thought it was the line laying right next to it but it doesn’t seem to work because it’s too thin
Start the engine and see if it has vacuum, spray a little carb cleaner over it and see if the idle speed changes. Either way if everything that uses vacuum is working then cap it off and see how it goes... Where is the other end of the hose connected?
I just googled "82 Corvette Vacuum diagram" and got a bunch of diagrams....
There are 2 types of Cruise Control Systems, Non-Resume 1977-1980 and Resume 1981-1982 and later.
That vacuum nipple with no hose going to it is the Resume solenoid (part of the transducer) on your 1982.
It requires a vacuum signal from the intake manifold.
As you can see, the nipple then feeds a vacuum signal to the main body of the transducer.
Here is a diagram you may find helpful...
Your job is to find where the red line hose is on the intake manifold, usually near the distributor area on a earlier C3. .
