My 72 came with a tremec 5spd installed, I'm trying to replace the front parking brake cable (was removed at some point) and noticed that the cable will come into contact with the slip yoke, does anyone have a solution? I hear the tremec is a common trans to upgrade to. The tremec website states that you may have to bend the pulley bracket to clear. Any help is appreciated.
I know Wilwood makes an electric parking brake caliper that fit our 1.25" rear rotors. I'm hoping to discover your issue with my TKX installation so I'll have an excuse to use it. I think some folks have used a separate electric piston that tensions the stock cable remotely.

The rear parking brake cable! Anyway my 79 has a loop tab on the tranny tunnel that hold the cable away to the side. The other option like I have done on other TKO 600 installs is to elongate the tranny cross member mounting holes off to the side and move the rear tail shaft away from the cable.
I just did a TKX swap ony 74 and had no issue with clearing the brake cable. The cable should have a metal clip near the top of the tunnel to keep it out of the way
Do not know if this helps. I have a '64. Do not know how different the set ups are.
Had same problem. I just moved the fulcrum lever below the bracket instead of sitting on top of the bracket.
Here are the pictures of the adapter installed. I scanned the flat metal pieces so you could make the adapter from the template. I can also send you the directions. Hope this helps.
