Default McJacks headers and a borgenson box.

Just got my new Mcjacks headers, the ones that replace the stock manifolds. The car is a 72 with a big block. I also have a borgenson box. It looks like a tight fit. I have hooker competitions on there now that fit fine. And when I ordered them he said they would fit. Any one try this combo.

I've been waiting for someone to say this.
When I asked McJack back a few years ago (4 or 5) they couldn't confirm one way or there other if it would fit.
Please post up some picks as it's something I'd like to look into someday when the Canadian peso isn't quite as low as it is now.
Is there some, lots, no room for the engine to move a little or can you get your finger between them?

Plenty of room. There at least 3/4 to almost and inch of room with the second and third pipes. You better save a bunch of Canadian pesos because they were $1240. But I checked out a set of Hooker super comps and they were almost $1100. If you add in the price of a muffler shop to hook everything up it will come out the same as the McJacks.

The McJacks I've already been running for a long time. The borgenson swap I've been thinking on doing for a handful of years, for no real reason, but always put off not knowing how much I'd have to beat the crap out of the headers to get it to clear.

Of course the price of the borgenson and the other stuff is more or less right up there as well last I checked

Here they are with the Borgenson box. Almost as much room as you have. These are for the early cars. He didn't have the later design for my 72 and he didn't know when he would get them. So I got the 65-69 ones and had to change the front pipes anyway so i got the ones for the earlier cars. Everything fit perfect. These are alsu stainless steel.

Ahhh right you said that before. I wonder if the pipe arrangement in that area is the same on those as it is on my 70+ style ones.

Yo be honest they look the same. The collector part may be the only part that is a little different.
Give McJacks a call.

The 70-74 or the 69- style McJacks?
Photos of the area where the borgenson is at the pipes would be appreciated

Just finished putting them in and the car sounds different than the long tube header. It seems a little quieter. Haven't taken it for a ride yet.
