Just pulled my gas tank from a 70 vert. Never had a car with a tank sticker, now I have a new project to decipher it and remove it.
I have looked through past threads and internet and can’t seem to find a list of all the codes. Mine are faint and thought I could have an educated guess if I had all the codes. Appreciate any advice on finding the codes and best way to preserve the sheet. I’ve cleaned as much as I dare with a paint brush. I’m looking into clear contact paper, but I don’t want to ruin anything now or later.
Thanks
Jim
No contact paper! Above all else, you want to protect it as fully as possible from damage and acid degradation from improper storage materials. Search for "archival" sleeves. Also get a piece of unbleached archival mat board from a frame shop that will just slide into the sleeve as a backer. Then slide the tank sticker into the sleeve and store in a cool, dark, dry location.
