I owe a 1972 corvette with the base 350 200 HP motor. I noticed when I go to increase the speed to about 85 it seems to stall like it has a governor on it. Any advice to why is welcome.
If you have a quadrajet carburetor and you floor it to get on the freeway, it will stall out. The float bowl area is pathetically too small on them. And the carb runs out of gas. That is why I changed to a Holly spread-bore carb over forty years ago. Lou.
Do you still have the original points style distributor?
When was the last time you cleaned them, set the dwell, and changed the condenser?
What do the spark plugs look like as far as wet, sooty, clean?
When was the last time the carb was truly tuned?

Please start your own thread. Then responses will be 100% yours and not confused with the original poster 72Gem and his question.
