Default Help identify this part on TH350

I have what I believe is a TH350 trans in a custom hot rod that I own and I am getting a little fluid leak from the connector circled in the picture below. This part also can move back and forth freely. What part is this and is it supposed to be loose?

That's your speedometer output. Looks like an aftermarket unit that converts the mechanical spinning of the output to an electronic signal for the speedometer.

Thank you. I assume fhere is some o-ring inside that I need to replace. Ill have to get it on the lift and check it out

I would also reroute and take the stress off that cable

Yup, there should be an o-ring to seal it up. It's a very common leak point. A new ring should take care of it.
