Alignment issue
I have a 1980 C3 with stock tires and wheel that are in good shape. I upgraded to rack & pinion and got the car aligned but I'm questioning how good a job they did. The car will squeal like crazy when turning tightly even at low speed in parking lot like it's understeering. I rememeber that while the shop was aligning the guy told me that camber was adjusted to max so no more adustment was possible. I think the adjustment was threaded in all the way so that would mean it was negative and couldn't thread in to make it anymore positive unless I'm wrong. All other suspension parts are stock except for R&P upgrade and the car does drive very straight with no play anywhere. I have also experienced understeer before the R&P upgrade while taking off under heavy throttle where the car continued straight instead of turning.
Any suggestions?
you have air in system.
raise front off ground.
eng off
turn steering wheel lock to lock
20 times slow and steady.
understeer is confusing in your description.
vettes have understeer a little from factory. not major under steer
