Finally got the 350sbc vortec with cam swap and new 200-4R trans (with overdrive) installed. Took a while to find help, but got it done. Made some upgrades along the way and deleted some things... pics later. https://www.gmperformancemotor.com/parts/19432780.html
This is the cam swap we put in with new springs/etc.. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-8802
I should be around 420HP and think I need to swap out the diff now. It's the stock diff and I haven't taken the cover off yet, but think this is the next upgrade possibly. Any suggestions for an upgrade
I feel like there should be a little more WOT/tire burning with the swap. Might have to tweak the timing a bit also...
You should see which gear you have now, 3.08 - yeah you probably want to go to a 3.73. 3.55 - then you are probably good to go, if the diff is in good shape.

Took it out this week and felt a little click clank in the rear so need to see what's going on. Figured once I get it up in the air, might just dive into it and check everything.
I have a 3.55 rear end waiting to go in with the 2004r i have yet to install in my 74... a 3.73 would be better for performance but it would negate the point for me which is highway cruising rpms and noise levels from the sidepipes at said speeds.
I read you wanted to upgrade from a stock diff but you bought a stock diff? What brand gears are used? Not knocking anything or anyone, just confused with your statement and decision?

Good call. I emailed them to triple confirm that it'll hold up. Might have to re-consider if won't....
I was looking to do an easy swap hence why I just bought the whole setup. Not looking to do a full rear end swap/etc and looking for a better gear combo

reading the fine print of their guarantee they can say one thing to your inquiry and at failure time say it was abused. You also will be charged the extra 500 core charge. I would PM Gary and have a discussion on what your specific requirements are and the cost.
