suprised they lasted this long, drag vette 6 link with safety loops minimized the damage. Rear end is ok, but planning to beef that up. Ordered heavy duty chromoly halfshafts from drag vette, so will have to find the next weak link!

when my rear snubber mount broke the differential would tilt up just enough to rub the body.....I had a softball size hole hidden under the rear deck it took a while to find
The joint failed and took out the yoke flange. Chrome moly shafts won't stop that from happening. HD shafts are good but the weak link is the joint. Spicer solids are the best but they will break, we have done it. The safety loops shown we ran as well and they broke at the weld. The loop is better in the center of the shaft not the ends. Tom's may still sell the better loops that bolt or weld to the cross member. If you want stronger, go to Tom's 1480's and forget the rest that are 1350. Depending on the diff year and condition you might want to look at the axles and posi case, enough abuse to snap a joint will usually show posi and axle issues. There are some internal things to beef it up, many are online or at Tom's web, but there are also some mods that aren't listed that help.
good luck with it.
