My drivers window on my 75 will only go up a couple inches then stops (sound like it's hitting something). But if I slam the door very hard before trying the switch it will go up all the way. Any ideas?
1. Old dried grease in the mechanism.
2. The side tracks are out of alignment.
3. If the “tilt” adjustment is off the resistance against the weatherstripping will cause issues.
4. Old, brittle weatherstripping.
Try some soapy water on your weatherstripping. With your window up and door closed, sit inside and press lightly outward on the top of the side glass. How tight is it pressing against the weatherstripping?
Take the door panel off and investigate. You know it will fail to go up in a rain storm far from home. Jerry
Agree to this, you gotta get in there and see what's going on. Old crusty rollers? Something that's come loose or is out of alignment?
I popped open my passenger door last week to figure out what was causing issues, and sadly just put the door card back on and decided to "deal with it later." Too many "while I'm in there" things to address (inside latch mech, regulator, motor, rollers) basically it all needs dealt with.
