Center Gauge Power '76 Corvette
According to the '76 wiring schematic, it appears that power is supplied to the oil pressure gauge, parking brake indicator, fuel gauge, water temp gauge and tach via the pink wire. The only thing that does not work right is my oil pressure gauge, although my tach has been acting screwy lately but it pretty much settles in after driving some. I've changed several oil pressure sending units and the gauge just pegs. It will go to zero if I only turn on the ignition for the radio, then take the key out. I had the console out recently and all the wiring behind the gauges including the oil pressure looked fine. I was thinking something might be going on where the pink wire clips in to the distributor since sometimes if I jiggle the brown wire there the tach will start working better, but if power is fine to all the other gauges, that's probably not the issue. And, that connection looks solid. Any idea here?
