Can't tell the year you're working on but first, check the power going to the power pin on the light socket, then check for continuity of the socket sides to ground.

Can’t check no voltmeter I’ll check all grounds tho it’s weird tho because the tail light stays on but when the brakes pressed only the left side stays dark the right side is bright

Take a wire and attach it to a good ground, and touch the other end of the wire to the brass part of the bulb holder.
If the bulb light up you may have a bad socket.

have somebody stand behind your car (with it turned off) then step on the brake peddle and jiggle the turnsignal switch and see if the other brake light comes on

Start simple- check to see if you left the turn signal switch up or down the last time you parked. If it’s on, the brake light on one side won’t come on. That’s the design.
I once spent an hour trying to track down this exact problem until I stumbled on the turn signal. Centered the switch, problem fixed.
