Okay,
Fuel pump in my 68 327/350 decided to go for a long lunch this morning.... It was the original pump so "NOT for ethanol and crimped so no rebuild" . any suggestions for the best eligible replacement would be appreciated
Thx.
There is a guy in California that can rebuild the crimped fuel pumps. He uses new internal parts so you should be able to use ethanol. Looks like new what you get it back.
He isn't cheap and he does them in batches so it takes a couple of months, but if you want to keep the original part he can do them. He does GM and Ford units.
I installed a "China" pump while waiting for mine to come back. His name is Fred Ballard and his email is fredsclassics@hotmail.com.
I’ve used and recommend Fred Ballard. His service is for those that want an original fuel pump restored.
Has anyone gotten a fuel pump rebuilt by Fred lately? I sent mine to him in February of 2022 and never got it back. I last contacted him almost a year ago and he told it was still in process. I’m really not worried about it, just hoping he’s OK.
To the original poster, I have a used generic fuel pump that was on my 69 350 that you can
have for the cost of shipping if you want it. It was working when removed before I restored the car.
