From the top battery connection on the solenoid the RED wire that goes to the IGNITION switch also powers up the headlights and a few other things.
Do you have voltage at the ignition switch RED wire?

You need to verify that you have 12V at the purple wire on the ignition switch. Look at post #9 in the below link for a diagram of the ignition switch.

I was trying to unplug ign wires , and moved other wires close by and the wipers turned on, tried the key, so then the key turned the starter over !
Thanks to every one , sometimes the wires just need to be moved or reconnected.
