Door Lock Removal Tips?

Just remove the four screws (two at top of door and two at bottom) the screws holding the door pulls, the lock button retainer and button and the window roller handle retainer and handle (if you still have manual windows.) and pull the panel off.
There should be a plastic vapor barrier that you'll need to pull the top right corner of down to get to the lock cylinder.
Make sure the window is up so you have plenty of room to get to the cylinder. On my car the cylinder was held in place with a spring clip, that slides off. There is a rod going from the door latch mechanism that is held in place by the cylinder. There is a small sping type clip that holds this rod into the eye on the cylinder.
Since I didn't remove mine, I don't know how hard it is to get loose from the rod, but it didn't look too hard.
This would probably be a good time to clean and lube your window hardware, which I did yesterday. The grease had reverted back to a solid state and was binding on everything.
I used carb cleaner and PB Blaster to clean all the moving parts of the window mechanism and lock, then I relubed everything with white lithium grease. Windows and locks operate like new now!
Good Luck!
Actually, I found that by removing the inspection panel below the door opening lever, I had room to get my arm up to the backside to the door look cylinder and remove the clip. Every thing went back together real well and I also cleaned and lubed all moving parts with white litium grease. I love it when things go right!!!
:D
