Default Drain plug

Is there a gas tank drain plug for a 77 Corvette and if so, where is it located. And if not, I need suggestions how to drain the gas. The car is been sitting for six months with gas in it and I believe I should change it unless somebody out there thinks different. Thanks everybody for the response.

so you think I should drain the gas tank if the gas is six months old? Or do you think I can get away with it?

I have run old gas.
I fill it as quick as possible with Premium as I use it.
I have siphoned out at least half and filled with premium.

Your call and only you can make it.

Nothing really right with 6 month old gas these days. I clean a lot of fuel systems in my line of work. Gasoline these days has a shelf life of approximately 3 months. I'd at least try to siphon out most, top up with premium and run that through. Then top again.

Never had a problem with older gas such as yours or even older. If concerned, fill it up when you take it out.

Eh 6 months is pushing it with the quality of gasoline these days, just siphon out as much as you can, fill it up and drive it!

How full is the tank today? If nearly full, I’d throw a bottle of Sta-bi and a bottle of Heet and go drive it. If half-full or less, add the Sta-bil and Heet and add 5 gallons of fresh gas.

I agree with the others no need to drain.

I have a Honda lawn mower. I use only ethanol free gas. With flesh gas it starts on the first pull. After two months, 2 or 3 pulls. After four months, 5 or 6 pulls. After six months, good luck!

That’s closing in on normal winter storage around here; we store with full tank to reduce condensation. Never an issue running that old tankful down to empty and refilling with fresh.

Yep.....30 years in the land of the Great Lakes makes you wise on how boat storage really should be.......and the people in the know store them with a full tank......some even plug whatever ventilation they have....no air or water gets to it....no problem.
Here in Texas......I just drain everything as it is dryer here......

we use Stabil fuel stabilizer, it can sit for six months and still run....Without it and it was ethanol in the tank, it gets left on the side of the road. I got my brother a couple of snowblowers, my brother and Dad both a couple of lawn mowers all needing wither carb rebuilding or replacement. My friend caught on and he grabs what he can find and throws chinese carbs on them and gives them away...
