Default Routing back up camera wiring

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post. I just bought a 1975 Corvette and happy to be a part of the Forum. I thought I better ask before I start pulling my car apart. I bought a sound system with back up camera capabilities. I understand how to wiring it up, but where would be the best place to route the wiring to the unit itself. My apologies if this has been covered in the past. I'm getting used to the Forum and will try not to waste driver's time.

From the radio, back along center console, then behind driver’s seat, up the back panel, over and back alongside the rear fender well. Then the tricky part. At the rear wall you will find your rear lamp harness going through the body. Pick your way you want to go through. Follow the rear lamp harness back to your taillights.

Now for your next decision. How to get your reverse power to turn your camera on/off. I went into the reverse lamp dust cover and tapped power at the reverse bulb. This will allow when you put your car in reverse, to provide power and turn your camera on, shift to drive, turns it off.

On another note, if your sound system has another video input, you can do a forward facing camera in the middle grill. That has come in handy with curbs.

I would run the wire under the carpet over to the driver door sill. Then follow the carpet edge behind the door frame and then along the floor to the back of the car towards where the antenna lead exits the car. This would be a good time to lay don your new speaker wires. Once you get the wire out of the car ( using either the antenna hole or a rear light hole. If you drill be aware that the gas tank is right there. I wouldn’t drill if possible). Once you are out a lot of us mount the camera over the licnse plate. Then hook the power lead form the camera o your back up light circuit. Welcome aboard and you picked a good project to start with. Not too difficult and you will enjoy the fuits of your labor every time you get in the car.

Run your new wires along with the existing ones.
