TH400 transmission dipstick
I was replacing my 69 Vette TH400 transmission pan gasket and noticed that the add fluid line is the only one sticking out of the tube and the full mark is inside the tube, is this normal or is the dipstick too short or the tube too long. Unfortunately I put the pan back on without looking into this first. I put in 4 quarts of oil and fluid level is at add mark with the engine running but I am afraid to put more in in case the dipstick is too short. The dipstick is 24 1/4 long from the base of the top cap to the bottom tip. Thanks

The fluid level should be even with the bottom of the transmission case (where the gasket would touch)
My original stick and tube is in the basement, I can measure how much it stick out and get back to you.
