Has anyone fitted the Global West lower front coilover A arms with QA1 shocks ? I am a bit confused how the shocks bolt to the A arm

I just bought these (well the extended travel versions) and I'm waiting for cooler weather to install. If you look at the gusseted are you see a oval-shaped cutout. On either side of the oval is a threaded hole. These are the mounting holes for the lower coil-over shock mount.

You'll need to make sure your shocks come with the lower mounting bearing/T-bar or buy the one from Global West. It's basically a short bar that goes through lower shock bolt hole, and has bolt holes on both ends. Check the pictures at the link below.

Oh. Unfortunately, I've not tried them yet so I don't know if mine are difficult to start the bolts, too. Are your threads in good condition? I've seen new components with threads that are already buggered up.

Maybe contact Global West directly. They've been fairly responsive when I've contacted them by email.

Make sure there isn’t any powder coating material in the threads.
You may need to run a tap through them if there is.

Only thing I suggest is you run the bolt up from bottom first to clean the threads

Looks great! Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to do that when I start my install. Waiting for temperatures to cool, into the low 90s. lol
