I would highly recommend not using the small bracket and grind the slot in the clutch fork wide enough for the helm joint to go right into the fork. Eliminates a huge failure point on these. Might need a longer rod to extend it. I did this a few years ago and it works great. I bought mine from Speed Direct.

upper / lower rods, so the rod from the clutch pedal to the Z bar (upper) & the Z bar to the clutch release fork (lower) is that what is being said ?
someone in the referenced post on the other thread mentioned a 5/16" end was hard to locate, just make a reducer from the 3/8" hole to 5/16"
about as simple solution as you can get.
