I’m using a CS 130 alternator for my application, with a 4 pin pigtail, with SFLP pins. My guess is the red wire from the car goes to S, and the brown wire goes to L. Can anyone confirm? Obviously the Ecu pin won’t be used since this is a 78 model.
Well I'm in the middle of a minor engine repair right now and have a Gates 9555 and 9560 belts on order now to install the CS144. I should have that alternator installed before the weekend is over. If the wiring works me it should work for you to. I'll let you know.
Edit: When I worked in a auto electric shop rebuilding alternators, if I remember correctly all that was needed is the L terminal to be powered with a 194 bulb connected to 12 volts when testing those alternators. The S terminal wasn't needed but is recommended to be used.

Thanks man, I put a resistor on the L terminal, and it fixed it. Appreciate the help!
