My experience on a 78
After unbolting all the perimeter attachments I still could not get the box out. Removed the right rocker molding and lower splash shield to loosen the line connections. Drop the exhaust pipe and remove the right exhaust manifold toget the clearance to wrestle the box out of the car

As Jud says there are 1 or maybe 2 screws that go through the firewall and on my 78 a couple of very small screws at the bottom of the box, which I missed first time around. Having removed all the screws I still couldn't get the box out without also moving the expansion tank. I didn't need to take off the exhaust but then I've got the original manifold not headers.
