I'm thinking about ordering the 4 point roll bar from Jegs, but just got to wondering if it would interfer with the removable back glass in my 71. Has anyone used this roll bar and what was the result?
You are right Jay, I saw his at Bowling Green and he did a great job on it. :yesnod: The reason I posted the question is that I think 72 was the last year of the removable window. You can bet I'll go to Mike for tips on fit, etc.
Dave, I actually installed the bar with the rear window out of the car, so that was one of the things I had to check for clearance when installing. I thought it would be important to be able to install/ remove it after the bar was in if I ever needed to in the future ;) .
If you decide to go for it, I can give you some tips :yesnod: .
Thanks Mike. As soon as I'm sure that it will not be a problem with the back window, I'm ready to cut the order. I took a couple of pictures of yours through the side glass, but they didn't show much. I'd love to hear what you learned on your installation and see any pictures you have of the installation. I'm also going to order the 5 point harnesses while I'm at it. Will I need to do anything special to the bar to mount them? While I'm at it, I thought I'd add a camera mount. Oh yeah, how much welding is required? I would assume the two kickers to the back would ship loose? And while I'm at it, is your's bolt in or welded to the frame?
Dave,
Why don`t you find a "short track" guy to bend up exactly what you want?? There must be like a million guys racing stock cars where you live. At least thats what I would do!! ...redvetracr
Not a bad idea Red, I just figured it would be cheaper to buy from Jegs at @ $125. I also liked the way Mike's looked in the car. I'll check some locals before I order.
