Default 68 A Arm Removal

I'm going to replace my a arm bushings. I've got the 2 lock nuts off of the top a-arm but I can't move the a-arm off of the studs because the fan shroud is in the way. Do the those studs come out ? It looks like there is hex heads on the back side but they didn't turn when i removed the lock nuts ! Having to remove the fan shroud would be no fun !!!!

Yes those studs do come out using a C clamp and a socket on the head bolt side.

Those two bolts are knurled under the heads and designed not to turn.
To remove them you’ll need to put the nut on part way to protect the threads and tap them out with a small hammer.
If you have any rust in that area, spray a little PB Blaster under the bolt heads before you tap them out.

Thanks guys....Good to know ! Not sure how I can do it but I'll try. I think I only need the one out where the shroud is in the but I won't be able to swing a hammer on it !

That's if you could get a hammer in there.

That's why you use a c-clamp and a socket to press it out. That's the right way to do it.
