So the history of my threads are the SES light and code # 44 that requested Lean exhaust indicated both sides, both o2 sensors were changed and upon doing so my mechanic who is reputable being in business 40 plus years advised me they changed both o2 sensors but still code is there and thinks it is the ECM that has a problem. I continue to use the vehicle that only runs a little rough on the idle in gear and loads up and the SES light will then come on. Get on the highway and it goes off appears to only come on during a long idle in gear such as as a red light. I checked the codes again today and the # 44 code still exists but now there is # 12 that is a Diagnostic mode, no distributor signal to Electronic Control Module system pass. Is the problem the ECM as the mechanic stated I hate to have rebuilt or purchase one from Flag Ship 1 if it's not the problem. Any info would be helpful thank you
You posted this on the C3 side....but I will answer this anyway.....
Code 12 is an ECM check code and the no distributor signal means the engine is off.......
Lean code 44 in a 30 year GM car usually means the injectors have had it.......or the MAP is not sending the right signal......but with no MAP code then I am saying injectors.....
If the ECM is making the engine run I seriously doubt it is that......
