I wonder where you can get instuctions on how to rebuild a Power steering control valve?? Anyone do it? Is it hard?
Have you been happy with the Lares valve you got from Summit?

I have went to one HPDE and some street driving. So far, good. I do not notice any floor leaks. I will have the car up on a lift to have the differential rebuilt. I'll look closer then. Send a PM to remind me in 4 weeks.

For others that will read this thread:
I do know that Lonestar rebuilds these valves, and will do yours and return it.
They will even buy old cores.
But they will NOT touch a Chines made core, only original Delco GM cores.

I know of one guy who put three repop valves in, all in a row.
All had serious pressure or non-centering problems immediately. No obvious leaks.
4th time he put a Lonestar valve in and it worked perfect immediately.

You bring up a good point. I have no previous Lares experience. However, they do not require a return core. So if their unit goes to hell, I have my original core as a back-up. But so far, so good.
The guy you refer to who put three repop valves in. Where did he get them? Were they Lares?

Lone Star is the only way to go. Rebuilt originals only. I replaced mine recently and it works just fine. And yes, don't grease them and don't allow anyone else to grease them, Period.
Old thread.... but FYI.
