I believe in '68 and onward, the temp sensor was moved to the mid-point of the driver's side cylinder head, above and between the #3 & #5 spark plugs. Prior to 1968, it was located in the intake manifold near the coolant thermostat housing. You may also find a temp sensor in the passenger head but that's for emissions equipment.
