Starter Question
If you hook up a remote starter (shorting the solenoid), can anyone tell me if it will crank without pushing in the clutch? Would be handy to start the engine without being in the car. '70 L46.

Sure, it's bypassed all that wiring. These are just switches that break the current flow. The starter does not care where the power comes from.

Can you post a picture of this rare creature?
You must also have a working parking brake, too, if you can leave the car in neutral to start it remotely.
