Default Tall Valve covers

Hi I just got a set of tall valve covers for my SB, and now I'm wondering why there are tall and regular valve covers! I can't imagine a problem but there must be a reason.
Can anyone explain that to me?
Thanks !!!

Some roller rockers will not fit under regular valve covers. High horsepower cars that require a stud girdle definitely need the taller valve covers. Most people get them because they look cool.

Tall valve covers can interfere with accessories such as A/C compressors, alternators, brake boosters, brackets, EGR valves, etc.

Stock low valve covers also have oil baffles that work with the PCV system to prevent oil vapors and leaks from making a mess on your engine. Tall covers will not help you if you want to keep these features.

Do you need tall covers? You are likely about to find out why they have both standard and long alternator belts.

Hold The Phone.

Tall V.C.s do indeed come with baffles, oil drippers. Just need to shop around for quality.

<<<<<<<< To the left <<<<< is tall cast aluminum, with baffles, with oil drippers. Will never go back to stamped steel.

Tall V.C.s make your engine look bigger too. So, if it looks bigger, it makes more power, right? At least another 100 horse. (or not)
