Hello everyone I’m new to this and from New Zealand I have just brought a c3 vete and have massive door gap on passenger side as pics show I have tried adjusting hinges don’t do anything if I tighten body mounts will that help??any advice would be great as I hate looking at it thanks mark
Welcome to the wonderful world of C3 Corvette's. Back in the day the Automotive magazine's just slayed Chevrolet for the fit and finish on our cars.
here's my 77, which I have owned since dirt was new. Factory front clip, Factory passenger door.
LOT's of us have this. Many on just the passengers side. A few on drivers side and a very few on both sides. It's the way they glued the front clip on. No amount of door adjustment will change it. Fibreglass work or removing and properly reinstalling the front clip may help.
Sorry, this is the way these cars were built.
Oh, and welcome to the forum from across the ditch.

Looks excessive to me. Has the top of the fender come unbonded in that area?

Well, I am encouraged by your remarks here, I got my '72 about 20 years ago and while the pass side gap is not as much as yours, it always sorta bothered me/worried me. It's a bit unsightly but now I know why. Have a great day everyone!

tganks for all the info and yeh it is annoying might have to look at what you said some time in the future for now I just want to drive it
My 78 was the same when I got it. The reason was that it had been hit on the right front corner causing all the body parts to shift aft. The fender then rides up and over some underlying support panels. Removing the front clip and regluing all the underneath parts then regluing the clip fixed it all up. Big job but worth it to me

How does the door close...hang up a bit and require harder shutting or cleanly? Do the gaps to the window trim match on both sides of the car in the location shown in this picture or are they different? Also a picture of the whole door including the bottom might help figure this out.
