On a bone stock 1982 CFI, It has been diagnosed with a warm engine dying as a faulty ignition module. I have the new part but where is it located. ? In the distributor or some other location. /Thanks.

Inside the distributor. Remove cap, then rotor. You'll see it.
install with heat paste on the bottom.

FWIW, I ordered a Standard Motor Product from Rock Auto when the engine would not start. Product came dead in the water. Since Amazon could have one to me the next day, if it didnt work I could return it, so I ordered a Delphi, installed and engine started right up. Hopefully that won't happen to you but there are threads about bad IM.

Hold the phone there CrusinGeezer,

Before installing the "Modge" you must apply Heat-Sink-Compound under the unit.
Sometimes the paste is included, but more often it's not.

Do not use Dielectric grease. Not the same.

And as far as the backache situation. Put the front up on ramps. Makes a world of difference.

Looks like Amazon sells a tube of Heat-Sink-Compound for $10.47. Made by Super Lube.
Not exactly easy to find.
Years ago, it was abundant at any Radio Shack. So much for that.
