New pump or newer? I ran across this problem in a 90s gm van, the new pump i installed has a filter with magnet which can dislodge and block the return.

BikeSpace,
You can convert to stock-style manual steering or Borgeson, though you'll need to get your power steering pump squared away in the later case.

I've done one of each. Ask, and I can post links/instructions.

Most impressive post and indeed I'd like your information regarding the conversion to a stock-style manual
steering system
for my 78SA!!!
You can send the info to: Michael.kane72@yahoo.com
