This is not on my vette, but a 1972 GTO I bought last year, had it delivered and it had no brakes at all,so fast forward to now, drove the car down the road yesterday first time,I think it’s a 2004r, but don’t feel but three shifts, and haven’t done a lot of investigation on the tranny, but it does have the odd shape pan,but didn’t they also come out with a th-200c tranny, that was a 3 speed, and does it have same shaped pan.
This is the shape of a 2004r 4 speed auto pan, there is also a metric th200 which is a 3 speed auto, if it's a 2004r and only hitting three speed might be as simple as a TV cable adjustment
the fill tube is in front of the governor cap on a 2004r and believe it's to the rear of it on a th200

cool chart , I knew it was close and thought I could egg shape my T350 crossmember for the 700 because there's plenty of room to modify on my 1980, I already had a G Force cross member for better exhaust system options so I didn't pursue it any further... looks like T350 to 700 is a good swap just as T400 to 200R4

My first swap was a 700 instead of the 4 speed stick shift.....and it was not a good swap gear ratio wise, engine would wind up but good at a typical traffic light shift 3000+ rpm and then get the engine speed but by 1/2 down to typical 1600-1800 rpm.....hell of a drop, not so much issue with the DPFI I had on the car but in traffic it was a PITA because I had taught the trans how to slam shift when I rebuilt it....
I switched to a 200 4r and cured that issue ...having taught the trans fo SHIFT NOW!!!!! that RPM drop was just too irritating on a city traffic drive.....
