Default Wiring diagram

I’m looking at cleaning wires out that was part of ccc in my 1981, Question is what does it mean “part of IP harness” and when wires come to a solid black dot mean. Thanks

Likely a reference to the Instrument Panel harness but that depends on which wiring diagram source you're using.

The solid black dot is a factory splice joint.

I recently bought an outstanding full color wiring diagram from DocRebuild.com. This wiring diagram is big and fully laminated and has better detail than my previous wiring diagram. They offer them for the particular years and being full color makes it easy to trace the wires on the diagram. I have been a Customer of the Doc Rebuild for ~30 years and I have always been very satisfied.

After 32 years I will probably get ready to replace the vacuum system hoses. Right after buying the C3 I had the hoses replaced using parts from DocRebuild and those vacuum hoses held vacuum for weeks after a engine run. I have another full color diagram showing the vacuum lines and their routing which has helped me and several early C3 Corvette owners. That diagram was also purchased at DocRebuild.com.

Keeping a wiring layout on the wall helps me on my day to day stuff and they look great! If you want an accurate wiring diagram look no further than DocRebuild.

Out of the many wiring diagrams that I have bought over the years, the DocRebuild one is superior. The website is not the greatest in terms of "user friendliness", but it's worth its weight in gold. Very easy to read and color coded. The images of the various plugs makes locating and tracing less painful.

The DR one looks great. Many dont have the wire gauge as in the one pictured here.

I got my laminated ones a long time ago from ClassicCarWiring.com. Not as much detail as Doc's but they were pretty easy to follow and detailed enough to tell me almost everything I needed to know without making me dizzy trying to read them.
