Fire these clowns......
The other day I was stuck dog watching while the wife and daughter went to the store........so I was browsing around on the Roku and saw this "CARFIX" program......
You have to understand how my brain works......I will occasionally engross myself in shitty media to see just how bad it is.....this goes for "news" as well....
I scrolled through the episode descriptions to see what these guys "build" or "fix" and came across S1 E11 "Yard Find". They found an 81' Corvette next to a shop and took it back to their shop to "get it running"........so I said "well ****.......how bad could it be?"......well......it was comical, disgusting and insulting all in less than 20 minutes of programming........
These two morons need to be fired and never be seen again around anything that has a piston in it.........
These ******** bolt my fave Edelbrock carb on my fave spreadbore adapter......and then change the plugs and wires saying "The wire sets are way long because GM ran the wiring below the manifolds through the mount at the bottom.......so take the long wires, put them in the rear and tuck them way down...."
**** like this makes me want to quit the hobby......these ********* reinforce the Bubba effect to level 11.......

Not watchable unless you subscribe but it is on a few streaming services from Roku if you have one and want a good laugh........

The home repair/remodel channels are just as bad , and with 41 yrs, (and counting), of background in that industry it becomes amusing at best !
Obviously there's ten time the content of bad info on the web too.

Chris deserved that shot......I would have done the same thing.......he might not have got back up either........
Misinformation in politics and media is bad enough......now you have ******** misinforming people for a hobby.......the novice will watch this BECAUSE it is a "car" show on a "car" network.....they have to know what they are talking about.....right?
It will be another 10 years before I click on another BS automotive program.
BTW: Someone should have kicked Richard Rawlings *** a long time ago.......disgrace to the hobby.....and a true *******......

And who are they marketing these shows to? Certainly not anyone with a IQ higher than their age.
I never watch anything that even hints at a reality show, which usually isn't, and is mostly geared to the hosts/actors just being cool, whining, or just being stupid. It is truely amazing that anyone would actually bring their car to these clowns, and probably pay an exorbinant fee because of their celebity status, for work.
Youtube, on the other hand, does have some good vids that have helped me plan repair jobs. Of course, you have to use common sense to filter out the bad ones.
Same thing here to a lesser extent. Most of help replies are actually helpfull.

Nice to know others think the same!
Entertainment/views have replaced educational Lol 🤣
Not only do I agree with you but add that there’s just as much, if not more, ignorance with all these so-called automotive journalists that are clearly out of their league. I often nearly upchuck at some of their errors. Everyone makes mistakes (we’re mostly all human) but some are laughably, patently, obviously wrong.

The YouTube angle is not valid here......there are a lot of bad videos......we all know that.....but if they are on YouTube they are not produced from a massive media corporation........
That said.....there really are some brilliant videos about cars and engines that are priceless information........those people care and make me smile.
YouTube videos have saved me thousands of dollars (maybe even tens of thousands) on auto repair for late model cars.......I can fuse what I know with what they know and get a spot on result.......
It is the bogus info that makes me angry, from a "trusted" source........the theatrics are just stupid and part of reality dom......use to that.

The new "formula" for many automotive shows is scripted BS drama to keep the significant other that may be watching entertained I guess... Its horrible to watch as they dont explain much of anything and skip over most of what is or isnt done to the vehicle to focus on some stupid shop prank or fake mishap thay have to "overcome"..
There are shows I enjoy like roadkill garage and engine masters and the girlfriend really loves watching vicegrip garage and roadworthy rescues which I'll admit can get on my nerves at times with some of the half *** **** he does but its still good honest wrenching and you can fault a guy for getting it done his own way. Still I feel like even he has become a slave to what gives him the most youtube views and subscriptions for $$ and its wearing on him.
Guys like the former cohost of hotrod garage have left to do their own thing on youtube where they have more freedoms without dealing with the BS.
I have learned most of what I know from you tube and forums alike and find them both very informative. Even when folks disagree I find you can learn what you thought you wanted or how you thought was the best way may not be the best for you after all. You tube is where I learned to do my bodywork, paint , seat reupholstering and build my engine as well as how to port and assemble the heads more recently. Its saved me a fortune on multiple projects and hobbies as well as helped me determine what I want to tackle on my own and what I might leave to someone else to handle for me. I learned some great tricks like how to paint rims mounted on a tire without spraying the tire and how to punch a clean hole in carpeting for seat belts or bolts using a heated punch to melt a clean hole.

He said they were excited to meet him, Chip walked up to the group and sarcastically said.'Oh how cute matching shirts with name tags' and walked off. Very disappointing.
This same person also sold a car to Richard Rawlings. Nothing good to say. All my heroes are dead so I can never be disappointed .
Carfix is a JOKE. Nothing but a huge advertisement and the hosts are just bolt-on idiots. Don't ever get me started with Texas Metal. That guy is a moron and I knew that from the first time I saw him with his stupid straight bill on his baseball cap.
