Default Electrical gadgets

Hi, it didn’t take long to have a few questions.
There is a wire with the “connection” end broken off, shown in the first pic, that looks to be ground of some sort. Any one help? Thanks.
There is also a rivet on the passenger fender where the hood lays into. It has a blade style tab like where a female connector would go. Any help? Thanks.
There is red plastic box, unit thing that has a fairly substantial bundle of wires coming out of it. Any one help? Again thanks.

Some of this looks non factory to me. But then I am trying to figure out what I am looking at. Doesn't look like my 77.
perhaps a clue as to a year?

When it comes to electrical, the first question should never be, where does this wire that goes nowhere go. As brand new cars have wires that go nowhere.
The first return answer to that is simply, What isn't working?

Hey, I think I figured out the short wire in pic #1. It IS a ground. The tab on the inside fender is where the hood snubber goes. The red box I think has to do with the anti-theft system. Thanks for the replies. The Vette is an ‘82.
