Default GF-432 non OEM fuel filter leaks

I bought 2 GF-432 Filters($50 apiece) from one of the major Corvette parts vendor replacing what I think is the original filter. Guessing that they were made in China.. Both leak at the top flare. Has anybody else had this issue? I am not interested in a 'Show Quality" filter as my car is a survivor and I drive it. Has anybody had good luck with non-OEM filters and if so where did you get them?

They are hard to seat. I little lube on the threads can help. I use the brass washers when I swap filters so they don't have to be so tight.

So I am guessing a 45 degree brass washer? In all my years I never had issues with flared fittings. Thank god for Google. Never knew they make 45 degree washers for flared fittings. Thanks DDAWSON for the tip. It's a great day when you learn something, especially at my age...

Yes, generally, parts from a Corvette only shop are not well priced and should only be used when absolutely necessary.
Per your leak, when installing a flare line, you sometimes need a little lube on the threads, and may need to tighten/loosen/retighten the nut a few time in order to get the correct flare crush to seal correctly.
