This connector appeared after I removed and replaced the steering column in my 1977. I pulled the column several times to make it easier to get the driver side dash pad out. It's always gone in easily in the past,
this time has been a challenge. Only courtesy lights, when I move the ignition switch the lights dim or go out. The fuel gauge is pegged past full. I put in a new radio and the hot always circuit is good but no power thru ignition. Did I miss something? Does it have anything to do with this connector. It's located on same bundle as headlight switch just below it. The connector is hot all the time two orange and one white wire. The wires it is attached to bend around in a tight curve. Guy before me screwed with the alarm system and tried to add cruise so I have a bit of a wire jungle behind the dash.
Thanks, I assume it pulls into the two tabs on the bottom. Which way does it go?
Look closely at the connector, one side is slotted.
On the buzzer one terminal has a small protruding bump.
They did that so the connector could only go on the buzzer one way...
I guess you could cram the connector on the other way but that would be incorrect...
Shorting out the buzzer unit....
Cannot find where this one goes. I also found the anti-theft warning switch hanging with the threaded end broken off. The anti- theft has never worked, I have no key and the key slot is not original.it is a round key. I have the trouble shooting guide but still can't find where the blue connector goes. All the wires that should have power without the ignition switch turned on seem to have power but the ones that go thru the ignition don't. Turning on the ignition does nothing. The courtesy lights come on when door is opened but dim when the ignition key is turned. Any one have any thoughts? I can' find any other loose connections. The anti theft warning switch being broken I have never seen before and I have had the steering column and dash out more than once and never this type of problem.
